Hljómey is a music festival held in the homes of residents in Vestmannaeyjar. Hljómey takes place late in spring, on the last Friday of April each year, alongside MEY, marking the beginning of the summer season in Vestmannaeyjar. The festival is held in good cooperation with the townspeople, who open their homes to music guests, as the people of Vestmannaeyjar are known for their hospitality.

The first festival was held on April 25, 2023, where 15 musical acts performed in 11 homes in downtown Vestmannaeyjar. Among those who performed were Emmsjé Gauti, Júníus Meyvant, Valdimar Guðmundsson, Magnús Þór Sigmundsson, Una Torfa, Móttettukórinn, and others.

The festival is launched at Landsbanki's building on Thursday before the festival. In the evening, a music pub quiz is held at The Brothers Brewery. The festival then begins at 8:00 PM on the last Friday of April each year and lasts until 11:30 PM. Festival guests then stroll around downtown Vestmannaeyjar and attend concerts by the musicians they choose, according to their schedule.
