Víkin and Klaufin
Vík is a sandy and sheltered cove that is a popular outdoor recreation spot among locals. It can be found west of the isthmus that connects Stórhöfði with Heimaey. The cove has black volcanic sand and its waters are home to a large forest of kelp.
North of Vík is Klauf, where the lava reaches the sea and where you can find many beautiful rockpools and rock formations.
